Book Letters to Milena
The book of the great Austrian writer, author of “The Castle” and “Metamorphosis” Franz Kafka includes letters addressed to his beloved, Czech journalist Milena Jesenskaya. Their correspondence and romance began in the spring of 1920, after Milena undertook to translate his prose into Czech, and lasted only a few months, in the words of Kafka biographer Claude David, “illuminating with a powerful light a life that had lost hope, but then leaving it even more devastated than it ever was." Kafka's constant fears and Milena's contradictory character made happiness impossible, which is mentioned more than once on the pages of published letters.
The book’s text has been translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence system. In most cases, the translation is accurate and clear, but occasionally there may be incorrect phrasing or individual words left untranslated.
