In the spring of 1757, Henri Vidal arrives in the Hungarian city of Rags, where the wedding of his brother Mark and Doctor Roderich's daughter Mira is to take place. The ceremony promises to be an event for the entire city. However, expectations are somewhat darkened by the threats of Mira's rejected admirer Wilhelm Storitz. The son of the famous German scientist Otto Storitz, in the event of marriage, promises to “resort to such means before which human reason and power are powerless”... This novel was written by Michel Verne based on Jules Verne’s original manuscript “The Invisible Bride,” which has undergone significant revision. The book is accompanied by classic illustrations by Georges Roux and is given in the new (1997) translation by V. Bruggen.

The book’s text has been translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence system. In most cases, the translation is accurate and clear, but occasionally there may be incorrect phrasing or individual words left untranslated.
