Svetlana Vasilievna Kekova was born on April 21, 1951 in the city of Aleksandrovsk, Sakhalin Region. She graduated from high school in Tambov, then studied at the philological faculty of Saratov State University. She defended her PhD thesis on the poetic language of Nikolai Zabolotsky. She began publishing in 1989. Author of the collections “Poems about Space and Time” (1995), “Hourglass” (1995), “On Both Sides of the Name” (1997), “Short Letters” (1999), “On Seven Hills” (2001), “Oriental Kaleidoscope” (2001). Lives in Saratov.
