“New Life” by Dante Alighieri is the youthful work of the great poet, which created his fame as a poet-prophet. Falling in love with Beatrice for him is an event of cosmic proportions and sacred history. Without this hymn of love, it is impossible to imagine the subsequent literary tradition: it was the young Dante who substantiated love, and not simple imitation of nature, as the main stimulus of poetic creativity. Accurate psychological observations, power over one’s own lyrical feelings, biblical and ancient contexts of feeling - all this allows one to consider “New Life” both as a workshop for the future “Divine Comedy” and as an example of a deeply personal experience of culture. In this edition, “New Life” is presented in translation by M. I. Liverovskaya, an outstanding writer of the Silver Age. Introductory article by RSUH professor Alexander Markov.

Вражаюче дослідження любові та творчості!

Книга «Нове життя» Данте Аліг'єрі є справжнім шедевром, який відкриває перед читачем глибини людських почуттів та переживань. Цей твір не лише про любов до Беатричі, а й про те, як ця любов стає основою для поетичної творчості. Данте майстерно передає свої емоції, використовуючи точні психологічні спостереження, що робить його переживання надзвичайно близькими та зрозумілими. Переклад М. І. Ліверовської додає новий вимір до тексту, хоча іноді технологічні недоліки можуть заважати повному сприйняттю. Вступна стаття професора Олександра Маркова також є цінним доповненням, яке допомагає зрозуміти контекст твору. Рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто хоче зануритися у світ класичної літератури та відчути магію поетичного слова!
