On a frosty starry night, Skhodov, a meteorologist and head of a polar station, walked against the wind to take readings from meteorological instruments. Day after day he, together with mechanic Anisimov, thought about how to save the sick radio operator Yurovsky - he was starting to have pneumonia. And Anisimov found a way out.
