And truly, everyone who listens to his advice finds great God-bearing men as interlocutors. Saint Barsanuphius lived in the 6th century, and for fifty years or more, not a single person, except the abbot, saw this ascetic, for he imprisoned himself in a small cell, as in a tomb, not eating any food other than bread and water. Another elder, the Monk John, went through the same silent life and was granted the same gifts of the Spirit, especially the gift of clairvoyance, which is why he was called a Prophet.

Ця книга є справжнім джерелом мудрості та духовного натхнення. Вона пропонує читачеві унікальний погляд на життя святих отців Варсонофія та Іоанна, які, незважаючи на своє безмовне життя, залишили глибокий слід у серцях багатьох поколінь. Керівництво до духовного життя, представлене у формі відповідей на запитання учнів, є надзвичайно корисним не лише для священнослужителів, але й для всіх, хто прагне знайти внутрішній спокій та зрозуміти сенс свого існування. Якість перекладу, хоча й має деякі недоліки, не зменшує цінності самого тексту. Книга закликає до глибокого роздуму і медитації, що робить її незамінним помічником у важкі часи. Рекомендую всім, хто шукає шлях до духовного зростання та самопізнання!
