Book Katenka
"Katenka" is the first novel of the famous Ukrainian writer Ivan Nechuy-Levytsky, created in 1848. This work tells us the story of a young beauty, Kateryna, who lives in a Ukrainian village. Unhappy love, intrigue, betrayal and other complications of Ukrainian life of the 19th century are described in the novel very vividly and truthfully.
The author deeply recreated the social conflicts and intrigues of rural life, and also presented us with a bright and true portrait of a woman who faced the challenges of fate with dignity. "Katenka" is an eloquent example of Ukrainian literature, where realism and romanticism are successfully combined, showing us the life and fate of people in the Ukrainian village.
