Already in 1946, he fell into Stalin’s disgrace; in 1957, at the height of his fruitful work as Minister of Defense, he became a victim of a party-nomenklatura conspiracy led by Khrushchev, and only in 1999 was Marshal Zhukov posthumously completely rehabilitated. The documents in the collection recorded the most complex twists and turns in Russian history of the post-war period.

Важливий внесок у розуміння історії

Книга не лише відображає драматичні події повоєнного періоду, але й дає можливість заглянути в закулісся політичних інтриг, які мали місце в той час. Автори зуміли зібрати важливі документи, які розкривають не лише особистість Жукова, але й складну політичну ситуацію в країні.
