Readers are offered the first book from the trilogy of Polish writers Krystyna and Alfred Szklarski “Gold of the Black Mountains”. The authors set out to show the life of the Indians as it was during the period when European colonialists appeared on the richest lands of the New World, although they do this from an artistic point of view. The reader will gain a lot of embellished information about the life of the Indians, their traditions and beliefs, morals, and habits. The novel tells a fascinating story about the flora and fauna that surrounded the Indians. He shows them inseparably from nature, of which these people considered themselves a part. At the center of the story is the fate of the Dakota tribe. A young hero named Tehavanka is full of ambitious plans, but there are a lot of obstacles on his way. Having been captured by the hostile Dakota Chippewa tribe, the young man intends to avenge his father's death, but falls in love with the chief's charming daughter named Memengwa. Recommended for youth.
