Автор майстерно відтворює думки та переживання Аристандра з Тельмеса, намагаючись заглянути в глибини душі Олександра Великого. Хоча книга не обмежується суворою історичною достовірністю, сміливі гіпотези Дрюона роблять її ще більш захопливою. Читачі можуть відчути атмосферу епохи, побачити світ очима персонажів і зануритися в їхні переживання. Важливо зазначити, що текст перекладено за допомогою штучного інтелекту, і хоча більшість перекладу якісна, іноді зустрічаються не зовсім коректні фрази.
