The famous artist Maria Bashkirtseva was born in the village. Gavronians of the Poltava province are in a fairly noble and wealthy family. Her entire short life (she died of tuberculosis) was literally shrouded in family secrets. Even the exact date of birth of Bashkirtseva could only be established in the 80s of the twentieth century - previously it was believed that she was born two years later. Maria lived almost constantly in France, but at the same time traveled a lot around Europe. Bashkirtseva's worldwide fame was brought not only by the paintings now on display in the best museums in the world, but also by her “Diary,” which she kept from early childhood and which testifies to her extraordinary talent as a writer.
