Theo Griepenkerl is a petty scientist with the ego of an Olympian god. Having accidentally discovered ancient Aramaic scrolls, in fact the fifth Gospel, he, without thinking about the consequences, publishes them, gives autographs and interviews, laughs at his fellow losers, and ends up tied to a chair in the lair of terrorists... This is him, the modern Prometheus! The plot is about a scientist who by chance encroached on the foundations of the Christian religion is, to put it mildly, not new... But Michel Faber (one of the authors of the international project “Myths”) does not set out to amaze the reader with originality - he creates a parody, a caustic and sharp satire on a modern book and a modern hero.

The book’s text has been translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence system. In most cases, the translation is accurate and clear, but occasionally there may be incorrect phrasing or individual words left untranslated.
