Book First and last freedom
The First and Last Freedom, one of Jiddu Krishnamurti's first books, has remained his most widely read and published book for fifty years. It opens with a foreword by Aldous Huxley. This book of conversations discusses the fundamental issues of life. Why is so much inhumane in people's lives? How are we made? What is it about us that deprives us of genuine, inner freedom? What is it about us that makes us suffer and vegetate, and not live freely, calmly and joyfully? Can every person change himself? And is there a way out, a way to live without conflicts, without problems, without wars? What drives us into a dead end of conflict? Why are we always in conflict? People against people. Group against group. Man against man. Why?
