Book Guide to life
Epictetus’s “Guide to Life” is a small but very special book on philosophy, which was carefully preserved and passed on from century to century for almost two thousand years! The authorship of the “Manual” belongs to Arrian, one of the students of Epictetus; the philosopher himself did not leave any books or memoirs. In the new translation from the French version of the “Manual”, Epictetus appears alive and humane, despite the centuries that separate us and disappeared civilizations. In our time, the book is not at all outdated and, as before, can teach the main thing: how not to lose joy in life, how to cope with the loss of loved ones, how to find harmony and peace in every day and how to become a philosopher!
The book’s text has been translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence system. In most cases, the translation is accurate and clear, but occasionally there may be incorrect phrasing or individual words left untranslated.
