Book Maxims
François de La Rochefoucauld (1613–1680), a French moralist writer, a master of psychological analysis and an excellent stylist, left as a legacy to his descendants deep philosophical reflections on human vices and virtues that have not lost their relevance even after more than three centuries. Laconic, polished language and excellent aphoristic form turned his maxims into the pinnacle of journalistic prose.
The book’s text has been translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence system. In most cases, the translation is accurate and clear, but occasionally there may be incorrect phrasing or individual words left untranslated.
