Book Burning Court
John Dixon Carr, prime minister at the court of the queen of the genre, Agatha Christie, is considered the greatest specialist in locked-room murder detective history. The technology of this type of crime is the subject of the study of detective theory. The writer defined a detective story as a kind of “game in which the author plays against the reader” - hence the mystery of his works, the mystery even being close to a Gothic novel. “The Burning Court” is a mystical detective story with a completely unexpected ending, dedicated to the “undying” - a phenomenon that remains aloof from lovers of the unknown.
