The book by British sociologist Guy Standing explores one of the most painful issues of our time - the widespread spread of a new class, which, on the one hand, plays an extremely important role in the production of both material and intangible values, and on the other, turns out to be deprived of most social and political rights and guarantees: participation in elections, stable salaries and medical insurance, paid leave, access to education, etc. The precariat (from the English precarious - unreliable) is steadily growing in number and includes more and more countries and forms of social life ; its features can also be seen in Russian everyday life (temporary migrant workers, interns, freelancers, creative industry workers). Understanding the concerns and problems of the “new dangerous class” and understanding possible ways to solve them is one of the main tasks of our time.
