Book We
"We" is a classic dystopian novel written by the famous Russian writer Yevgeny Zamyatin. The book was first published in 1924 and impressed the world with its originality and vision of the future.
In the center of the plot is a world where a despotic regime reigns, absolute equality and control over every step of citizens. The main character, engineer D-503, lives in this push society of Numbers, where even thoughts are controlled and obey the general order. But after meeting the mysterious I-330, everything begins to change...
Zamyatin turns to the topic of free will and self-expression of a person, against the general harmony and equality of the masses. Due to the feeling of fear and danger, the author creates an atmosphere of panic and mental tension.
"We" is a prophetic book that leaves a ripple. It makes you think about what society can become if general control exceeds human individuality.
