The name of Yuri Petrovich Mirolyubov (1892-1970) is well known to all researchers of pre-Christian pagan Rus'. An amateur historian, writer and journalist, author of historical studies, books on Russian folklore, poetic and prose works, Mirolyubov is known primarily for deciphering, translating and publishing the so-called “Vlesovaya Book”, according to him, written by the ancient Magi and preserved on wooden tablets . In this edition, the reader will become acquainted with Mirolyubov’s most interesting book “Russian Pagan Folklore”, which is a collection of small, skillfully written sketches on the themes of South Russian folklore. This is how he himself wrote about his passion for folk legends: “I fell in love with the ancient... My love for my native hazing, supported by my kind teacher, inspector Tikhon Petrovich Popov, remained for the rest of my life. He instilled in me the need to write down various legends, songs, fairy tales and proverbs.
