"Bolsha Soviet Encyclopedia" (BRE) is a large encyclopedic publication in the USSR, which contained a wide overview of the knowledge of the world at that time. Each volume of BRE covered a topic from A to Z, including history, science, culture, geography and other aspects of life. The publication was in an extremely large number of volumes and became a popular source of knowledge for the general public.
