Ця книга є надзвичайно цінним ресурсом для всіх, хто цікавиться історією України та Росії в XX столітті. Автори зуміли зібрати величезну кількість нових, раніше маловідомих джерел, що робить підручник не лише інформативним, але й актуальним. Особливо вражає об'єктивний підхід до переосмислення історичного досвіду вітчизняної державності, що дозволяє читачеві краще зрозуміти складні та драматичні події минулого. Проблемний підхід до подачі матеріалу робить його легким для сприйняття і дозволяє оцінити явища минулого в контексті сучасності.
