For 70 years, a folder with a strange name was kept in the Archives: “Envelope with a crown and the inscription “Anichkov Palace”.” Inside the folder there is indeed a small envelope with the typographical inscription “Anichkov Palace” and an embossed crown. But there is another inscription on it, this time by hand, in English: “Nicky’s hair when he was three years old.” And the signature is “Alix”. In the envelope lie the golden curls of little Nika... Just like in that first photograph of him as a baby. The book was also published under the title “Nicholas II.”
