Book Hill of Dogs
Failed writer Mikolaj Glowacki returns from Warsaw to the provincial town of Zybork. He once wrote a novel about his small homeland, which became a real bestseller, but he exaggerated and distorted much of it, portraying Zybork as a real hell on earth. However, inspiration and money quickly ran out, and Mikolay goes home to his father, whom he hates and fears, and to the city, which he sincerely considers the worst place in the world. And indeed, corruption reigns in it, criminal authorities rule, and human life is worth little. They even say that this whole land is cursed. And now the leaders of the local community began to disappear here without a trace. When one of them is found in the forest, emaciated, distraught, with pieces of human flesh stuck in his teeth, the city is in panic. No one yet knows that this is only the beginning of a nightmare, and the threads from it stretch to the brutal murder of Mikołaj’s first girlfriend, which happened many years ago.

"Пагорб псів" - це не просто роман, а справжня подорож у темряву людської душі та соціальних негараздів. Микола Гловацький, головний герой, стає символом багатьох людей, які намагаються знайти своє місце в світі, але стикаються з жорстокою реальністю. Автор майстерно передає атмосферу провінційного міста Зиборка, де корупція та кримінал панують на кожному кроці, а страх і ненависть пронизують життя його мешканців. Читач відчуває, як страх перед минулим і ненависть до батька формують Миколу, а загадкові зникнення та вбивства додають напруги до сюжету. Книга змушує задуматися про те, як минуле може впливати на наше сьогодення, і які жахи можуть ховатися за звичайними обличчями. Рекомендую всім, хто любить глибокі психологічні драми з елементами трилера!
