Роберт Маллон, головний герой, веде спокійне життя у Санта-Барбарі, але його зустріч з таємничою жінкою перевертає все з ніг на голову. Автор майстерно вибудовує сюжет, наповнюючи його напругою та інтригами, які тримають у напрузі до останньої сторінки. Я був вражений, як детектив Лідія Маркс допомагає розкривати таємниці, і як їхні пошуки ведуть до все більш небезпечних ситуацій. Книга не лише захоплює, але й змушує задуматися про природу зла та помсти. Стиль написання автора вражає своєю динамічністю, а персонажі — глибиною і складністю.
