Книга "Гольдштейн" занурює читача в атмосферу напруженості та інтриг, що панують у підземному світі Берліна. Автор майстерно поєднує історичні факти з вигаданими персонажами, створюючи захоплюючий сюжет, який тримає в напрузі до останньої сторінки. Абрахам Гольдштейн, американський гангстер, стає центральною фігурою в цій грі за владу, а детектив Гереон Рат виявляється втягнутим у небезпечні ситуації, які змушують його переосмислити свої моральні принципи. Особливо вражає динаміка між персонажами — їхні стосунки, конфлікти та емоційні переживання передаються з великою глибиною.
