The book of Eduardo Viveiros de Castro (b. 1951), an outstanding Brazilian anthropologist, professor at the National Museum of Brazil at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Cannibal Metaphysics. Frontiers of Poststructural Anthropology” is devoted to topical issues of ethnography and modern philosophy. Rethinking the classical theory of property and sacrifice by Claude Levi-Strauss, which had a significant impact on modern anthropology, the author offers an original interpretation of the "ethno-metaphysics" of the American Indians, built on the interpretation of such concepts as "perspectivism" and "multinaturalism". Вражаюче дослідження сучасної антропології

Книга "Канібальські метафізики" є справжнім відкриттям для тих, хто цікавиться етнографією та філософією. Едуардо Вивейруш де Кастру пропонує читачеві глибокий аналіз класичних теорій, зокрема теорії Клода Леві-Стросса, і вміло переосмислює їх у контексті сучасної антропології. Автор вводить концепції "перспективізму" та "мультинатуралізму", що дозволяє заглянути в унікальний світ американських індійців та їхнього сприйняття реальності. Книга написана зрозумілою мовою, що робить її доступною для широкого кола читачів, не тільки для фахівців. Однак варто зазначити, що переклад, хоча й якісний, іноді має недоліки, які можуть відволікати від основного змісту. Незважаючи на це, "Канібальські метафізики" залишаються важливим внеском у розуміння культурних та філософських аспектів людського існування.
