Автор майстерно поєднує елементи трилера та політичної драми, створюючи напружену атмосферу, яка тримає читача в напрузі від початку до кінця. Сюжет розгортається на фоні боротьби за контроль над нафтовими ресурсами, що робить його надзвичайно актуальним у сучасному світі. Персонажі прописані дуже детально, і їх мотивація виглядає зрозумілою та правдоподібною.
