Автор, Карлос Руїс Сафон, знову вміло занурює читача в атмосферу Барселони 1950-х років, де кожен куточок міста дихає історією та таємницями. Даниель Семпере, наш улюблений герой, знову стає в центрі подій, і його дружба з Фермином стає ще більш глибокою та складною. Сафон майстерно поєднує елементи трилера, драми та романтики, створюючи захоплюючий сюжет, який не відпускає до самого кінця.
