This is a brilliant, reasoned response to the leading New Atheist ideologist Richard Dawkins. The author gives an overview of the main ideas of Dawkins and objects to his opponent from the standpoint of a Christian scientist. Being not only a theologian, but also a molecular biologist, McGrath convincingly shows that science and religion are not in opposition to each other, and the scientific view of the world does not necessarily lead to atheism, as Dawkins tries to convince his followers. Вражаюча відповідь на новий атеїзм

Книга «Бог» Алістера Макграта є потужним аргументом у дебатах між наукою та релігією. Як професор Оксфордського університету, Макграт не лише демонструє глибоке знання теології, але й наукові основи, що робить його аргументи надзвичайно переконливими. Він майстерно розкриває ідеї Річарда Докінза, ставлячи під сумнів його твердження про те, що наука автоматично веде до атеїзму. Книга сповнена логічних міркувань та прикладів, які показують, що наука і релігія можуть співіснувати, а не бути у конфлікті. Хоча переклад тексту іноді має недоліки, загальна якість викладу та глибина думки компенсують ці незначні недоліки. Ця книга стане чудовим доповненням до бібліотеки будь-якого, хто цікавиться філософськими та науковими питаннями, пов'язаними з релігією. Рекомендую всім, хто прагне зрозуміти, як наука може доповнювати, а не заперечувати віру.
