In a collective monograph archaeological Text. is examined from the "frozen" burials of пазырыкской culture of Mountain Altai (IV - III вв. B.C.), kept in Institute of archaeology and ethnography From WOUNDS and the State Hermitage. The painted fabrics and thick felts of пазырыкцев became the object of the complex research undertaken with the purpose of determination of kinds and sources of ancient dyes. The got results are a present opening in this area. The research work sanctified to the exposure and description of dyeings plants of Altai is first done, that it is necessary for determination of possibilities of local source of raw materials at painting of Text. and other articles of material culture in antiquity. All vegetable bits and pieces, discovered in burials, were identified. Studies are undertaken on the exposure of possible dyes inorganic origins. Basic attention is spared to determination of organic dye-stuffs of antiquity. All analyses were conducted by the newest physical and chemical methods. This research does not have analogues in world practice neither on the circle of the put and decided tasks nor on the complex of the modern physical and chemical methods and devices used for these aims.A book is illustrated by colour-processes, charts over and tables are brought, allowing to become familiar with the methods of researches and their results.For archaeologists, ethnographers, art critics, restorers, historians, chemists.
