Book The Grand Inquisitor
"The Grand Inquisitor" is a part of Fyodor Dostoevsky's novel "The Brothers Karamazov", which is one of the most famous fragments of his work. In this philosophical story there is a meeting between the inquisitor himself and Christ, who appears on earth again. The Inquisitor explains to Christ why His teachings are unsuitable for people and why they are more inclined to submit to power and authority than to follow His principles.
In this work, Dostoevsky explores the eternal themes of faith, free will, and morality, questioning the importance of religion and dogma for modern society. "The Great Inquisitor" leaves many questions for the reader about his beliefs and values, as well as prompts deep moral and philosophical reflection.
