Book Poor Folk
"Poor People" is the debut novel of the great Russian writer Fyodor Dostoyevsky, published in 1846. This tragic story about two poor souls, Barbara and Makar, reflects the lives of ordinary people in St. Petersburg society in the middle of the 19th century. With the help of the letters of the main characters, the author reveals their feelings, dreams, hopes and disappointments, allowing the reader to get to know their soul depth. "Poor People" is not only a psychologically rich work, but also an important testimony about the social problems of that time, about inequality, poverty and hopelessness. This work marked the beginning of the great literary journey of the great classicist, who continued to raise important social issues in his masterpieces.
