What to do if you have magical abilities, but there are no teachers nearby? It is customary for witches to undergo apprenticeship with old witches, learning a profession and helping them in their work. So Tiffany Aching, eleven years old, even went to another country - Lancre (which is not so far away in fact) to undergo training and become a real witch. But, as it turns out, learning witchcraft means doing the same mundane work you do at home. From morning to evening, you have to do your usual household chores and also walk around the villages, helping people. When will magic classes begin? Flying on a broom, spells, magic wands, etc.? No, it turns out that in order to be a witch, you first need to learn not to use magic at all. And Tiffany does this very well. She can’t even make a tangle – a magic device. The only thing she manages is to leave her body to look at herself when there is no mirror at hand. But it is very dangerous to leave your body unattended. You never know what will want to take over your body, your brain. One of these creatures has long noticed Tiffany, attracted by her extraordinary intelligence and witchcraft abilities. And when Tiffany left her body once again, it took her place. Her loyal bodyguards, the Nac Mac Feegle, and even Granny Weatherwax herself, set out on a journey to help Tiffany get rid of the invader and become herself again.
