Novel “Foma Gordeev”.  - one of the best works of M. Gorky. The main character inherited a substantial fortune and family business from his father. He is trying to adequately continue his commercial activities and increase the capital acquired by his father, but the world of businessmen is alien to him. His hot, dreamy nature suggests that happiness is not measured by the amount of money. He is disgusted by the dirt and injustice of the life around him. He tries to find his place in it, but it turns out to be difficult. Foma seeks solace in drunken revelry and wild antics.
