The outstanding English prose writer Joseph Conrad (1857–1924) wrote about thirty books about his sea travels and adventures. A neo-romantic, a master of psychological prose, he re-created the adventure genre in his own way and had a huge influence on the literature of the 20th century. Among his students are Hemingway, Faulkner, Graham Greene, Paustovsky. The first volume of his Works includes the novels “Almair’s Caprice,” “Exile,” “The Negro from Narcissus” and the autobiographical narrative “Mirror of the Seas.”
