Joseph Conrad (1857–1924) is a classic of British literature, one of the pioneers of modernism, author of the story “Heart of Darkness,” which had a significant influence on the culture of the 20th century. Eight stories, published in Russian for the first time, highlight the main themes of Conrad’s work: sea adventures and exotic countries (“The Accomplice” and “All Because of the Dollars”), the clash between bourgeois society and the revolutionary movements of the early 20th century (“The Anarchist”, “ Informant"), the fate of the writer's native Poland ("Prince Roman"), problems of ethical choice ("Fairy Tale", "Return"). The collection also includes “Personal Matter” - the only autobiography and a kind of creative and civic credo of Conrad.

Вражаюча збірка, що відкриває нові горизонти творчості Джозефа Конрада!

Ця книга є справжнім подарунком для всіх шанувальників класичної літератури та модернізму. Особливо вражає те, що в ній вперше публікуються російською мовою вісім оповідань, які демонструють глибину думок автора та його неймовірну здатність передавати атмосферу морських пригод і екзотичних країн. Кожне оповідання має свій унікальний стиль і тематику, від зіткнення буржуазного суспільства з революційними рухами до глибоких етичних питань, що ставлять під сумнів людську природу. Особливо цікавою є автобіографія "Особиста справа", яка дозволяє читачеві заглянути у внутрішній світ Конрада і зрозуміти його творчі мотиви. Хоча переклад, виконаний за допомогою штучного інтелекту, іноді має недоліки, загальна якість тексту залишається високою, а його зміст вражає. Рекомендую цю збірку всім, хто цінує глибокі літературні твори та хоче більше дізнатися про одного з найзначніших авторів XX століття!
