The American writer Howard Phillips Lovecraft did not publish a single book during his lifetime, publishing only in magazines. Often he had to work as a “ghost writer,” creating stories for more successful colleagues and giving them his plots. “Imprisoned with the Pharaohs” was written especially for Harry Houdini: the illusionist liked the adventure story about an escape from the other world and a meeting with mythical gods and received great fame. The stories included in the collection adhere to the typical Lovecraftian themes of spiritualism, pagan rituals and dreams.

Вражаюче занурення у світ Лавкрафта!

Книга "Заточений із фараонами" є справжнім подарунком для шанувальників творчості Говарда Філліпса Лавкрафта. Ця збірка оповідань вдало відтворює його унікальний стиль, занурюючи читача у світ спіритизму, язичницьких ритуалів та містичних сновидінь. Лавкрафт завжди вмів створювати атмосферу тривоги і загадки, і ця книга не є винятком. Вражає, як автор, навіть не маючи жодної опублікованої книги за життя, зміг залишити такий величезний слід у літературі. Хоча переклад тексту здійснювався за допомогою штучного інтелекту, що призвело до деяких недоліків, загальна якість перекладу все ж залишається на високому рівні. Я рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто хоче відчути магію Лавкрафта і його незвичайний погляд на світ
