Book Confidant
“The Confidant” is a novel by Graham Greene in the genre of a political detective story with elements of a psychological detective story (the author constantly describes the hero’s state of mind, and many plot twists are due to the hero’s mental shock). The writer wrote the novel in six weeks in a rented apartment on Bloomsbury, where he tried to abstract himself. There is a brutal civil war in one of the countries of Europe. The question of victory largely depends on which side can provide itself with coal for the winter. To resolve this vital issue, D. was sent to London. A former literature teacher, now he is the last hope of his exhausted homeland for a speedy end to the war.
The book’s text has been translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence system. In most cases, the translation is accurate and clear, but occasionally there may be incorrect phrasing or individual words left untranslated.
