Johann Bureus (1568–1652), teacher of King Gustavus Adolf of Sweden, was the first to study runes and the Swedish language, for which he was recognized as the “father” of Swedish grammar. Bureus himself believed that his main achievements lay in the field of mysticism. Bureus called his esoteric system of Nordic Kabbalah “notariconsuethia” or “KabalaUpsalica”. Bureus also used Kabbalistic techniques to study runes. The book is based on Bureus's main esoteric work, Adulrunarediviva. For the first time in Russia and in the Russian language, the esoteric system of Bureus is described on the basis of primary sources that are stored in Stockholm, Uppsala and Linköping. The main source is six manuscripts of Bureus entitled "Adulrunarediviva". Four of them are kept in the Royal Library of Stockholm, the remaining two are in the Carolina Rediviva library in Uppsala.

The book’s text has been translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence system. In most cases, the translation is accurate and clear, but occasionally there may be incorrect phrasing or individual words left untranslated.
