The Gift (1938) is the last completed Russian novel by Vladimir Nabokov and one of the most significant and multifaceted novels of the 20th century. Created longer and more difficult than all his other Russian books, it absorbed an unusually rich and heterogeneous material, kept in harmonious balance thanks to the skillful composition of the whole. “The Gift” is dedicated to several years of the life of the young emigrant Fyodor Godunov-Cherdyntsev - the period of formation of his gift as a writer - but in space and time it goes far beyond the Berlin of the 1920s, in which its action takes place. Nabokov's views on art and society, on the true and false in Russian culture and social thought, on the causes of the decline of Russia and on the best that remains unchanged in it. Неперевершений шедевр літератури!

Роман "Дар" Володимира Набокова – це справжня перлина, яка вражає своєю глибиною та багатошаровістю. Автор майстерно передає внутрішній світ головного героя, Федора Годунова-Чердинцева, який намагається знайти своє місце в новому світі, відчуваючи тягар еміграції. Набоков вражає не лише стилем, але й філософськими роздумами про мистецтво, ідентичність та занепад російської культури. Його емоційна насиченість та іронічний підхід до теми роблять роман надзвичайно актуальним і сьогодні. Хоча переклад може містити деякі недоліки, це не зменшує загальної вартості твору. "Дар" – це книга, яка залишає слід у душі та спонукає до роздумів, і я безумовно рекомендую її всім, хто цінує справжню літературу.
