I. Ilf and E. Petrov completed the novel “The Twelve Chairs” in 1928, but even before the first publication, the censors considerably shortened and “cleaned” it. Editing continued from edition to edition for another ten years. As a result, the book was shrunk by almost a third. The currently published version, the first complete one, has been reconstructed from archival materials. The book is equipped with an extensive historical, literary and real-life commentary.

The book’s text has been translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence system. In most cases, the translation is accurate and clear, but occasionally there may be incorrect phrasing or individual words left untranslated.

Неперевершена класика, яка варта уваги!

Роман "Дванадцять стільців" - це справжній шедевр, який не втрачає своєї актуальності навіть через десятиліття. І. Ільф та Є. Петров створили неперевершену сатиру на радянське суспільство, яка вражає своєю дотепністю та іронією. Читання цієї книги - це як подорож у часі, де кожна сторінка наповнена сміхом, але водночас і глибокими роздумами про людську природу та моральні цінності. Відновлений текст, який нарешті повернувся до свого первісного вигляду, дозволяє читачам насолодитися всіма нюансами авторського стилю. Хоча деякі фрази можуть бути перекладені не зовсім коректно, це не зменшує загального враження від книги. "Дванадцять стільців" - це обов'язкове читання для всіх, хто цінує якісну літературу та хоче поринути в атмосферу епохи!
