In the human world, as in the animal world, representatives of different sexes behave differently. World-renowned primatologist Frans de Waal has been observing monkeys both in the wild and in research centers for more than forty years. Вражаюче дослідження гендерної ідентичності

Книга Франса де Вааля "Різні. Чоловіче та жіноче очима приматолога" є справжнім відкриттям для всіх, хто цікавиться питаннями гендеру та соціальної поведінки. Автор, спираючись на свої багаторічні спостереження за приматами, ставить під сумнів традиційні уявлення про чоловічу агресію та жіночу ніжність, пропонуючи читачеві новий погляд на ці стереотипи. Де Вааль майстерно проводить паралелі між поведінкою тварин і людьми, демонструючи, що багато з того, що ми вважаємо "природним", насправді є соціальними конструкціями. Його аналіз різноманітності поведінки серед різних видів приматів, зокрема контраст між агресивними шимпанзе та миролюбними бонобо, відкриває нові горизонти для розуміння гендерних відносин. Книга написана зрозумілою мовою і спонукає до глибоких роздумів, а також викликає бажання обговорювати ці питання з іншими.
