Samuel Dashiell Hammett (1894–1961) is one of the most popular American writers, a classic of the detective genre, the creator of a literary movement later called the “hard-boiled detective.” The works of this author are characterized by a dynamic development of the plot, which keeps the reader in constant suspense, not allowing one to be distracted from the book for a minute. The second volume of the Works includes the novels “Red Harvest”, “The Glass Key” and “The Curse of the Danes”. They were created during the “Great Depression” of the thirties, when America was overwhelmed by waves of crime.

Вражаюче продовження класики детективного жанру!

Другий том творів Семуела Дешіла Хеммета - це справжня знахідка для всіх шанувальників детективної літератури. У книзі зібрані три його найвідоміші романи, які вражають динамічним розвитком сюжету та глибокими персонажами. «Червоні жнива» та «Скляний ключ» демонструють майстерність автора у створенні напружених ситуацій, які тримають читача в постійній напрузі. Хеммет вміло передає атмосферу «великої депресії», коли злочинність була на піку, а моральні дилеми ставали все складнішими. Хоча переклад тексту за допомогою штучного інтелекту іноді має свої недоліки, загалом він досить якісний і не заважає насолоджуватися цими шедеврами. Рекомендую цей том усім, хто хоче поринути в світ класичних детективів та відчути дух епохи!
