Автор майстерно переплітає долі героїв та історичні події, створюючи живу картину життя в цьому величному місті. Читач має можливість зануритися у світ, де правителі та зрадники, герої та лиходії взаємодіють у складних інтригах, що формують долю Риму. Від заснування міста до його розквіту як імперії, книга вражає деталізацією та глибиною персонажів. Хоча переклад тексту в деяких місцях може бути не зовсім досконалим, це не заважає насолоджуватися захоплюючим сюжетом.
