Кікеро, як центральний персонаж, виявляється не лише політиком, але й справжнім детективом, що змушує читача відчути всю складність політичних інтриг та особистих конфліктів того часу. Розслідування вбивства на Апіївській дорозі стає не лише пошуком правди, а й глибоким дослідженням людської природи, моралі та влади.
