The Lure of the Basilisk (1980) is the first fantasy novel in The Lords of the Dus series. The novel takes place in a primeval world where warriors fight with swords and spears, and Wizards fight with magic. Three centuries earlier, the Overmans were expelled to the Northern Wasteland during the Race Wars. The main character Garth is Overman. His family was created by a Wizard many centuries ago. He is the Prince of Ordunin - a port city in the far north - and the lord of the Overmans of the Northern Waste.

Чарівний світ фентезі, який захоплює з перших сторінок!

Роман "За Василіском" від Лоуренса Уотт-Еванса - це справжня знахідка для всіх шанувальників жанру фентезі. Автор створює унікальний світ, де воїни та маги ведуть боротьбу за виживання, а читач занурюється в епічні пригоди разом з головним героєм Гартом. Його шлях принца Ордуніна, який намагається відновити своє місце серед Оверманів, сповнений небезпек, інтриг та магії. Хоча текст книги перекладено за допомогою штучного інтелекту, більшість перекладів виявляються досить якісними, що дозволяє насолоджуватися сюжетом без зайвих перешкод. Проте, варто зазначити, що деякі фрази можуть бути некоректними, але це не зменшує загального враження від читання. Рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто любить фентезі з глибокими персонажами та захоплюючими сюжетними лініями!
