This work is about the time of the nineties, well known to the author’s generation. Moonlight Boy is the hero of a philosophical and psychological prose with a detective plot, which is difficult to assign a genre name to, which Andrei Bitov wrote in his preface back in the early 2000s: “... Lately there has been a lot of arguing and talking about the death of literature, the failure of the modern novel . The works are called either commercial or Booker... All this is idle talk. Literature lives by different rules. Freedom and unlimited space for a creative person to live is an undeniable thing. Alexander Korotko’s prose, which is outside the genre, is interesting for this reason. It refutes all the talk about the death of literature as a civilization, as a culture.”
