Modern science knows many examples of coexistence and mutual influence of the humanities and natural sciences. The sphere of interests of humanities scholars is increasingly falling into areas related to the everyday aspects of human activity, among which, first of all, judicial law, medicine, psychology, everyday culture, and education. The combination of methods from the humanities and natural sciences has given rise to a number of interdisciplinary intellectual movements, among which literature and medicine stand out. The subject of this article is a review of LM research. Determining the disciplinary nature of this movement is quite problematic. Its basis is the teaching of literature to medical students. On a purely thematic basis, it also includes literary works on medicine in literature. This article makes an attempt to refute such a combination of two directions independent of each other. The article is devoted to an analysis of the genesis and main works of LM.
