43 thousand years ago, homo sapiens began to settle in Europe, and the few Neanderthals simply disappeared into their environment. Several dozen generations after the start of close contacts between Neanderthals and sapiens, not a trace remained of the former rulers of Europe. They were exterminated not by the blows of clubs and spears, but by the invisible work of genes. But the winners did not need evil genes at all. The organisms of the descendants were gradually cleared of the archaic heritage until less than three percent of the genetic material of the Neanderthals remained in them.
