The book consists of sayings of Bishop Ignatius Brianchaninov, numbered in order. As can be seen from the text, the sayings are an appeal to certain individuals and they are not read as dry instructions; on the contrary, for me personally, from the very first lines it became a lively conversation with an experienced person on the path to God, giving consolation and hope. Valuable statements directly relate to our modern life and give the right mood and direction. Published from a manuscript found by Hieromonk Ignatius Sadkovsky in the papers of Bishop Ignatius Brianchaninov, which went to the Sergius Hermitage.
